‘Rubber-stamped’: Key Dem hit over Biden-Harris support on border, inflation

First appearance on FOXNevada Sen. Jacky Rosen, a Democrat whose future in Congress is uncertain, is facing scrutiny for her support of President Biden and Vice President Harris, particularly over their efforts to tackle inflation and illegal immigration, ahead of a close Senate election in her state in November.

“Jacky Rosen approves of over 95% of the Biden-Harris agenda,” a new independently funded ad from the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) tells viewers.

The ad, titled “Fail,” will air on television and digital platforms across Nevada and is part of the NRSC’s $100 million national advertising campaign.

“They used our tax dollars to provide COVID tests and hotel rooms for illegal immigrants,” the ad states.

It also highlights the high inflation Americans are experiencing under this administration while also highlighting the “taxpayer boon to illegal immigrants.”

“Jacky Rosen has let Nevada families down,” the video claims.

“Jacky Rosen’s track record of setting aside partisan politics to do the right thing for Nevada makes her one of the most bipartisan, independent and effective senators in the state,” Rosen spokeswoman Joanna Warshaw said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “Sam Brown has a track record of prioritizing MAGA extremism over hardworking Nevadans, pushing agendas such as banning abortion, eviscerating Social Security and Medicare and blocking a bipartisan agreement on border security.”

A June Fox News poll found that Nevadans feel negatively about their economic situation. Nearly half of those surveyed, 49%, said they are falling behind financially. Only 13% said they are making progress financially. Roughly four in 10 said their current situation is stable.

A July Fox News poll showed views of the economy had worsened nationwide, with 76% of voters saying they had cut spending to cover basic expenses — up five points from October 2022 and up nine points from when the question was first asked in March 2022.

Groups most likely to say they would cut spending include Republicans (86%), households earning less than $50,000 a year (83%), non-white voters (80%), women (79%), and voters under 30 (78%).

Additionally, a May Fox News poll reported that border security and immigration were among the top “breakthrough issues” for all registered voters. It was the biggest breakthrough issue determining votes among Republicans, and one of the biggest issues among Democrats and Independents.

Rosen voted in favor of the Biden-Harris Inflation Control Act, which has been criticized by Republicans and allied groups as doing enough to combat rising prices. FiveThirtyEight According to an analysis of 2023 votes, Rosen, along with Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nevada), voted in favor of a Biden-Harris administration 98.6% of the time.

Rosen is running against Republican candidate Sam Brown, a retired Army captain who was seriously injured while deployed to Afghanistan.

“We’re going to win in November, secure our border, and make Nevada a better place for middle-class families to live.”

“Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and Jacky Rosen’s policies have squeezed the cost of living for Nevada families. Instead, they have prioritized opening our southern border and giving taxpayer benefits to the illegal immigrants they allow into the country,” NRSC spokeswoman Maggie Abboud said in a statement.

Rosen’s campaign did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment by publication.
