Facebook Admits to ‘Incorrectly’ Rejecting Ads for ‘Reagan’ Movie

After actor Dennis Quaid accused Facebook of censoring promotional content for his upcoming film “Reagan,” the social media giant acknowledged that it “mistakenly” rejected advertising for the movie.

Facebook Made The confession came in a statement to Newsweek magazine, which first reported Dennis Quaid’s allegations earlier this week.

“While there are no restrictions on this Page that would prevent admins from posting, we have seen some ads incorrectly rejected from this account,” a Facebook spokesperson told the outlet.

“This occurred because our automated systems incorrectly determined that content about President Reagan required prior approval in accordance with our social issues, elections and politics ads policy. This was an error, and the ad restriction has been lifted.”
