During Thursday’s MSNBC broadcast of “The ReidOut,” Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) argued that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is “dangerous” and that “we should cut ties with his administration and no more.”
“Vice President Harris has shown compassion and consideration, but I believe a policy shift, a detailed policy shift, is going to be really key,” Omar said. “And before she leaves, I want her to not just call for a ceasefire, but to actually take action, to use our influence to stop the bombings that are causing death and destruction, and to urge voters to understand that when they express their concerns, those concerns are real. We are obviously desperate to win the election in November, and we know we can’t afford more.” [a] President Trump. It’s our own community that’s been affected. [by] We understand better than anyone how dangerous it is for us, because a Trump presidency is very dangerous for us.”
She continued, “But in order for the Harris team to get those votes, it’s also important that I say, on behalf of you, on behalf of the majority of Americans who want a ceasefire, on behalf of the majority of Americans who are fed up with the way Israel is fighting this war, fed up with Netanyahu’s arrogance and ignorance and how dangerous he is, I’m going to do this. We have to cut ties with his administration and say no more.”
