Secret Sevice probing claims agent left Trump rally to breastfeed

The US Secret Service is investigating allegations that a female agent left her post to breastfeed her child at a campaign event for former President Donald Trump this week.

“All United States Secret Service employees perform their jobs to the highest standards. While the incident in North Carolina was not impacted, the details of this incident remain under investigation. Because this is a personnel matter, we are not in a position to comment further,” Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told The Washington Post.

The breastfeeding allegations were first reported by Susan Crabtree of RealClearPolitics. Long X Post Thursday — immediately following a Trump campaign event in Asheville, North Carolina.

The breastfeeding allegations were first revealed by RealClearPolitics reporter Susan Crabtree in a lengthy post on the X site on Thursday, shortly after Trump’s campaign event in Asheville, North Carolina. Reuters

“Agents in the field were making one last check of their walking route when they discovered an agent breastfeeding her child in a room that was intended to be reserved for essential official Secret Service business, such as emergencies related to the President,” Crabtree wrote.

“An agent on duty cannot take a child on a protective mission. This woman was out of the Atlanta field office,” she added, citing three “Secret Service officials” as her sources.

The allegations come as the agency is already under fire for security failings that led to a deadly assassination attempt on President Trump last month. AP
