The Democratic National Committee (DNC) projected the video onto Trump Tower in Chicago on Sunday night ahead of its convention on Monday.
“All eyes are on Chicago, and tonight at the Trump International Hotel, everyone will get a preview of the contrast Democrats will play out this week at the Democratic National Convention,” the Democratic National Committee said in a statement.
The photo of the Trump International Hotel and Tower, named after former President Trump, sought to link the former president and his running mate, Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, to Project 2025, a political initiative announced by the Heritage Foundation, a Washington, D.C.-based conservative think tank.

Elements of the plan have been controversial, and President Trump has denied any involvement with it.
“I know nothing about Project 2025, I’ve never seen it, I don’t know who’s in charge, and unlike the very well-received Republican Platform, I have no affiliation with Project 2025,” Trump said in a June Truth Social post.
The messages projected on Chicago’s second-tallest tower were also intended to contrast Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz with their Republican opponents, with the DNC saying the vice president and the Minnesota governor “have a proven track record of getting results for working families.”

“Now they are running to lead our country towards a brighter future. Donald Trump and J.D. Vance are running on a platform of backward-looking Project 2025 policies that will make life worse for our families and take away their freedoms while giving Trump powers never before held by any president,” the Democratic National Committee statement said.
Democrats begin their convention on Monday after a tumultuous few months for President Biden, who dropped out of the race in July to endorse Ms. Harris, who quickly solidified her party’s support, choosing Mr. Walz as his running mate and leading the way in the polls for weeks.
Democratic candidates will hope to continue that momentum at their convention in Chicago, where the DNC will likely reiterate its message that Trump and Vance are only looking out for their own interests.

“This week, the entire country will witness Democrats rally behind Vice President Harris and Governor Walz and show what it means to be united in hope and a clear vision for a better future,” the Democratic National Committee said. “While Donald Trump and J.D. Vance are fighting for their own interests, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are fighting for you.”
