Copenhagen has introduced a reward-based climate credit system that allows both residents and tourists to earn collective benefits by walking, cycling and picking up litter.
Denmark’s CopenPay, which appears to be an incentive program conceived by Greta Thunberg, is said to be an initiative born out of a desire to reduce carbon emissions and “reward climate-friendly behavior.”
“Every choice we make impacts the environment, so why not make conscious decisions that will benefit us all and reap the rewards in return?”
According to Copenhagen According to the website, participants can redeem rewards by showing evidence of “green actions” like train tickets or bike rides, but it cites the Pew Research Center as saying that proof isn’t required because “Copenpay is built on trust, just as Danish society is the most trusting in the world.”
“Our local guides will share their insights into what sustainability is a way of life for local people.”
In reality, volunteer programs lure locals and tourists to do minimum wage jobs without pay, and then trick local business owners into believing they are good people and deserve to be compensated.
This apparently socialist bellwether is advertising its “free” services all over Copenhagen in the name of the climate, as if no one is actually paying for them.
Participants Attractions Here is what I’m trying to do:
- Bike to the canal and enjoy a complimentary coffee
- Volunteer at an urban garden and get a free vegetarian lunch
- If you walk or cycle you can enjoy a discounted “group breakfast” rate
- Collect yard waste and ‘earn a free organic meal’
- Clean the harbor and get a free kayak
- Clean the beach and get a free lunch
Perhaps the program’s most eye-catching perk comes from bike rental company Donkey Republic: In exchange for a pledge of loyalty, the company offers free bike rides.
“If you pledge to act sustainably during your visit, you’ll enjoy a free 45-minute donkey ride,” the website says.
As a few programs sprouted up that simply offered opportunities to learn about environmental activism, there seemed to be a shortage of participating businesses in the city.
This involves taking part in “an eco-conscious group run exploring eco-friendly city stops.”
The site says, “Our local guides will share their insights into why sustainability is a way of life for locals.” Of course, there’s no actual offer there; participants are simply signing up to be edified during the jog.
Tourists can also “share” [their] An “interactive” boat tour will explore “how to create a greener future.”
“We’re enabling people to experience more of what Copenhagen has to offer while reducing the strain on the planet.”
Not only is it cruel to lure residents and tourists into a program that doesn’t involve the exchange of money, it also essentially demonstrates the dangers of life under socialism. The government taxes working class citizens, and in return they get the pleasure of providing produce to farmers for free at the government’s command. The slave class, who can’t afford to travel in gasoline-powered cars, get fed, do the chores that the government is supposed to take care of through taxation, and get told how great their government is.
In this case, the catalyst is the promise of good vibes and environmental protection. But in 2024 terms, workers don’t have to prove they actually worked, but employers will be forced to offer compensation anyway.
The result is that the government takes your money, gives you nothing, and you live in squalor.
Copenpay said he wants to “encourage sustainable behaviour and enrich the cultural experience of visitors and residents” while empowering people through low-wage work.
““With CopenPay, we’re enabling people to experience more of what Copenhagen has to offer while reducing the burden on the planet. The aim is to create meaningful and memorable experiences that are fun and environmentally conscious,” the city claimed.
The pilot program will run from July 15 to Aug. 11, 2024, and the state is currently “evaluating the program” before resuming it in 2025.
