Mike Lynch and colleague die in accidents just hours apart

An investigation has been launched into the captain of Mike Lynch’s yacht, which sank off the coast of Sicily, killing six people, at the same time that one of Lynch’s colleagues was killed in a car accident.

The case comes just one month after Lynch and a colleague, Stephen Chamberlain, were acquitted of fraud charges arising from the sale of Lynch’s company, Autonomy, to Hewlett-Packard, where Chamberlain was Autonomy’s vice president of finance.

Lynch, a technology entrepreneur, died in the wreck along with his daughter Hannah Lynch, Morgan Stanley Chairman Jonathan Bloomer and his wife Judith, and lawyer Christopher Morvillo and his wife Neda.
