Minnesota voters send pointed message to ‘masterful shapeshifter’ governor at state fair: ‘Never Walz’

The Minnesota State Fair kicked off with a bang this week, with attendees seen lining up outside the popular anti-Tim Walz booth to win “Never Waltz” prizes after the Gopher State governor emerged as the No. 2 contender for the 2024 Democratic presidential nomination.

According to a report obtained by Fox News Digital, the state fair’s booth featured a giant sign that read “Never Waltz,” and long lines formed at the fair to receive “Never Waltz” fans and T-shirts.

The booth, set up by the conservative nonprofit Action 4 Liberty MN, offers attendees at the nation’s second-largest state fair the chance to spin the wheel and win “Never Waltz” signs and apparel.

“Our amazing supporters are spinning the wheel for a chance to win a free T-shirt and a ‘Never Waltz’ fan. We’re a nonprofit that promotes freedom by exposing Republicans and leftists who betray freedom. We mobilize grassroots supporters and train them how to wield their personal political power as effectively as possible,” Action 4 Liberty leader and former Republican Minnesota Rep. Eric Mortensen told Fox News Digital on Tuesday.

The Minnesota State Fair is expected to draw 2 million visitors, which begins Saturday and runs through Labor Day weekend. The Never Waltz booth is a popular attraction on the fairgrounds, and Mortensen said “the lines at our booth are longer than most food booths,” even though the fair doesn’t sell famous fair foods.

Waltz was again accused of misrepresentation in a scathing unearthed letter: “Delete any references.”

Walz is currently serving his second term as Governor of Minnesota after representing the state in Congress from 2007 to 2019.

Mortensen, who served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2021 until last year, is on the leadership team of Action 4 Liberty, explaining that the grassroots group has long focused on how Walz has “destroyed our state.”

Flashback: Obama was one of the first major Democrats to endorse Waltz early in his political career.

“Action 4 Liberty has led efforts to expose Governor Walz’s lust for power in Minnesota for years. In 2021, our State Fair booth was themed ‘Never Again,’ referencing Governor Walz’s unconstitutional lockdowns, mask mandates and vaccination mandates. The booth was used to promote my ‘Never Again’ bill that would strip the Governor of his power to unilaterally declare emergencies and appoint himself ‘King of Minnesota.’ We Minnesotans know Walz best. He pretends to be a Midwestern common man, but he is an neurotic, power-drunk tyrant who has destroyed our state and repeatedly infringed on the freedoms of Minnesotans,” Mortensen said when asked about the booth’s motivations and history.

Videos circulating on social media showed long lines of supporters waiting for a chance to spin the “Never Waltz” roulette, and Mortensen said the response to his booth had been “overwhelming.”

“State fair representatives and police officers driving through the fair had to repeatedly ask us to move the line off the road and closer to the curb,” he said.

“Most people in line say, ‘I’ve been looking for your booth all day,'” he says.

Trump campaign says ‘dangerously liberal’ Harris-Waltz pairing is ‘every American’s nightmare’

Waltz leapt to second place on the Democratic presidential candidate list earlier this month when Vice President Kamala Harris named him as her running mate. Harris became the party’s nominee after President Biden dropped out of the race last month amid growing concerns about his mental health and his advanced age of 81.

Walz joined the party in Chicago for the Democratic National Convention last week, formally accepting the nomination to run alongside Harris, garnering support at the convention by touting his background as a Midwestern native, military veteran and teacher.

“When you grow up in a small town like that, you learn to care for each other. The families next door may not think the same as you, they may not pray the same as you, they may not love the same as you, but they are your neighbors, and you care about them and they care about you. Everybody’s in it and everyone has a responsibility to contribute,” he said, reflecting on his childhood in Nebraska before moving to Minnesota.

“For me, it was serving in the Army National Guard. I enlisted two days after my 17th birthday and proudly served my country in uniform for 24 years. My father, a Korean War era Army veteran, died of lung cancer a few years later, leaving behind a mountain of medical debt. I am grateful for Social Security survivor benefits.”

Mortensen was forthright in his comments to Fox Digital about Walz’s performance in Minnesota, calling him a “master shapeshifter” who “transforms into whatever image he feels is necessary to advance his political standing.”

“Governor Walz signed a bill that strips parents of parental rights if they refuse to submit their underage children to sex-reassignment surgery. Governor Walz signed the most radical abortion bill ever, with no restrictions on abortion whatsoever. Thanks to Governor Walz, 13-year-old girls in Minnesota can now get late-term abortions without their parents’ knowledge, at taxpayer money’s expense,” Mortensen said of Walz’s record.

Van Jones: Walz needs to admit he exaggerated his military record so Democrats can ‘move forward’

Mortensen said that if elected, Walz “would rule with an iron fist and try to destroy freedom with a goofy grin on his face.”

“Governor Walz is an autocratic tyrant with an insatiable appetite for power. He has made a living by accumulating power as a protean politician, crafting a persona he believes he can successfully deceive voters in order to win elections,” he said.
