The FBI's update on the Trump rally shooting included new photos of a gun and backpack recovered in the investigation, as well as an improvised explosive device found in the vehicle of suspect Thomas Crooks.
The agency also told reporters Wednesday that investigators have not yet determined a motive for shooting Trump.
The bureau had faced criticism for releasing information that led people to believe the suspect was an alleged shooter motivated by right-wing beliefs, before the bureau's acting director acknowledged at a congressional hearing that social media posts contradicted that theory.

The FBI also released two photos of a gun and explosives found in the trunk of Crooks' car.

Another image Showed The FBI said Crooks used an air conditioning unit and another utility box to get onto the building and then fired at Trump from the roof.
At a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, a gunshot only grazed the former president, but one Trump supporter standing behind him was shot dead and two others were seriously injured.
Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned under public pressure for failing to provide adequate security for the former president, and Trump has since spoken at rallies from behind a bulletproof glass shield.
