Mob of 20 illegal aliens reportedly tries to board school bus with young children: ‘Really scary’

In San Diego, California, several illegal immigrants recently tried to board two school buses that were on their way to pick up young children, according to reports.

Two bus routes in the Jamul-Durzura Unified School District were suspended this week in separate incidents, according to district officials. KSWB Television Reported.

On Tuesday afternoon, three men, believed to be undocumented immigrants, were walking along Highway 94 when they tried to stop a school bus, forcing the bus driver to swerve around the men.

“These kids and the bus driver could have been in real danger.”

The next morning, a group of 20 illegal immigrants reportedly tried to board another school bus carrying children on a different route, and parents at the scene worked with the bus driver to stop them from boarding the vehicle.

No injuries were reported in either incident.

Nicole Cardinale, whose 8-year-old son was on the second bus, told KSWB that the incident was “really scary.”

“[My son] The adults, not the children, were seen trying to get on with their backpacks on. [his bus.] “… They said there were many perpetrators,” she said, “and it's really horrifying that these kids ended up in this situation. If those 20 people had gotten on the bus and tried to hijack it, the kids and the bus driver could have been in real danger.”

Details about both encounters are currently limited.

Superintendent Liz Bystead sent a short letter to parents explaining what happened, writing, “Today I notified transportation parents of two recent incidents involving school buses on Highway 94. Both incidents involved individuals attempting to stop a bus at a bus stop or attempting to board a bus.”

She added that she had notified the U.S. Border Patrol, the San Diego Sheriff's Department and the California Highway Patrol.

“We continue to work with police on this matter,” the letter to parents continued. “We have put additional procedures in place and have notified parents of bus users.”

Bus drivers are instructed to continue to the next stop if they encounter a stop with undocumented immigrants nearby, and parents are asked to meet the bus at the next drop-off point to pick up their children.

Bystedt told his parents: [vigilant] When the bus passes by, please follow it and pick up your child at the next stop.”

Kimberly King with the sheriff's office told KSWB, “The San Diego Sheriff's Office was made aware of this incident today and is conducting a follow-up investigation to determine if criminal activity occurred. The Sheriff's Office takes student safety issues very seriously and is working with the school district to keep students and the community safe.”

San Diego County District 5 Mayor Jim Desmond responded to news of the incident on social media. write“This is what happens when the border is open. Over the past year, more than 250,000 illegal immigrants have entered San Diego, and this is just one example of the chaos we face. Thousands of immigrants continue to pour in every day.”

Desmond described the incident as “terrible“This merits immediate investigation,” he added.

“Close the borders!” he declared.
