A political ad parodying a prescription drug commercial sells “independence” to people suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS), claiming that it will give them the “freedom to finally think independently again.”
“Do you or your loved ones suffer from an illness such as TDS, also known as Trump Derangement Syndrome? Do you downplay or deny the current problems facing our country, such as historic inflation, illegal immigration, corporate corruption, the escalation of World War III, and epidemics of chronic disease?” the ad's narrator says. origin John F. Kennedy, who worked on Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s campaign, asked listeners, “Are you going to elect the most unpopular vice president in modern history, someone who offers no policy or vision for America, simply because your head says anybody but Trump will do?”

If so, then there is a diagnosis and an answer: TDS.
“Introducing independence. Independence finally gives us the freedom to think independently again, instead of believing everything we hear from the mainstream media,” the narrator says, adding that independence “allows for constructive and critical thinking.”
The narrator then takes over from another person, who says she has heard “people on the news” denounce Trump and his supporters, claiming they are a threat to democracy.

“I immediately believed it. By independence, I now realize that the media is run by Democratic elites, a corrupt oligarchy that has abandoned democracy by censoring free speech, silencing political opponents, supporting forever wars, and nominating candidates,” the person said, before the narrator interjected, saying “independence” may not be for everyone, parodying a typical pharmaceutical company commercial.
“Independence may not be for everyone. If you enjoy being lied to about the president's cognitive abilities, support Orwellian totalitarianism, or get excited about Communist financial policies, independence may not be for you,” she said, listing common side effects as “awakening rational thinking, recognition of propaganda, freedom of choice, loss of hatred, anti-narcissistic behavior, and love of democracy.” Of particular note, as the video's narrator said “freedom of choice,” the video showed footage of Robert Kennedy Jr. and former President Donald Trump standing together at a rally in Arizona. Another short clip of Robert Kennedy Jr. standing at a podium at a Trump rally was then shown.
“Ask your doctor if independence is right for you, and enjoy your freedom once again,” the narrator adds.
“It's not too late to admit the problem, change our minds and save America,” Lara Trump said while sharing the video on social media.
The video was released a week after RFK Jr. suspended his presidential campaign and endorsed Trump.

“I have left my party to run as an independent. Mainstream American politics and journalism have ridiculed my decision,” RFK Jr. said in a statement, blasting the Democratic National Committee (DNC).
“And what's most sad to me, and to the Democratic Party, is that in the name of protecting democracy, the Democrats have tried to dismantle our own democracy because they are not confident that their candidate can win a fair election at the ballot box,” he said, ultimately expressing his support for the former president.
