As an actress, entrepreneur, wife, and mother, Jessica Alba certainly wears many hats, but one in particular that of a doting daughter is one she clearly cherishes.

“Almost three years ago I started my dream project,” the Fantastic Four star wrote on Instagram beneath a short teaser video of the home renovation project.

“I surprised my parents by buying them a house!” she revealed. “And not just any house, it was my grandparents' house where my dad grew up, so it's very sentimental to me,” she continued.

Alba's grandparents were Mexican immigrants and raised her father, Mark, in Claremont, California, about a 40-minute drive east of Los Angeles.

“When I think about where my grandfather was from, this house [was] “This is a symbol of success for him,” Alba explained in a YouTube video documenting the surprise and subsequent renovations, “a place where he can give his kids opportunities that they might not have had if they lived in another neighborhood or another city.”

“I pretended to help them flip their house before they sold, but in reality, I had always intended to buy it for them,” wrote the 43-year-old. “Just watching this trailer again brings up so many emotions, after keeping this big secret, surprising my parents, and then working for months to make this house perfect.”

“I can't believe this actually happened. This is for you grandpas. We love you more than you know and we miss you,” she wrote about her recently deceased grandfather.

“Your dad is shaking right now, Jessica, I want you to know,” the actress' brother Josh can be heard saying as the family gathers and hugs each other.

“[Your grandfather] “Jessica, he would be so proud of you,” a tearful Mark told his daughter. “He was so proud of you.”
