A recall of approximately 90,700 Ford and Lincoln vehicles is underway.
The Michigan-based automaker said in a recall report to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that the reason for the recall was due to a risk that the engines of the affected 2021-2022 Ford Bronco, Ford Edge, Ford Explorer, Ford F-150, Lincoln Aviator and Lincoln Nautilus “may contain intake valves that are prone to cracking or breaking.”
All 90,700 SUVs and pickup trucks being recalled are equipped with either the 2.7-liter or 3-liter Nano EcoBoost engines. According to Recall report.

Ford told FOX Business that the issue is more likely to occur early in a vehicle's life if the engine intake valve parts are prone to cracking.
According to documents Ford filed with the NHTSA, no accidents or injuries have been reported to date as a result of this issue.
“Our goal is to prevent quality issues from occurring in the first place,” Ford said in a statement to FOX Business. “And when quality issues do occur, we respond quickly with recalls and service actions, focusing on preventing issues with as little inconvenience to our customers as possible. We're proud that our vehicles have achieved best-in-class quality at launch and continue to improve over time.”
Dealers will install new engines free of charge in recalled vehicles that fail engine cycle tests, and affected customers can use Ford's pick-up, delivery and rental services to get their vehicles repaired, the company said.
