Former President Donald Trump has supported Gold Star families who lost children due to the Biden-Harris administration's failed attempt to withdraw from Afghanistan, Gold Star mothers Kelly Barnett (mother of Sergeant Darin T. Huber) and Coral Doolittle (mother of Corporal Humberto A. Sanchez) said during a television appearance. War Room, The event was moderated by guest host Matthew Boyle, Washington bureau chief of Breitbart News.
“They politicize everything,” Doolittle said in response to Vice President Kamala Harris' insults to Gold Star recipient families on Saturday after they invited Trump to Arlington National Cemetery to remember their children.
“For them to make this whole thing and then turn it all around and say, 'He's wrong. He's breaking the rules,' is just a lie. It's just a lie,” she argued. “President Trump has honored our children, all 13 of our children. And he's the only person who's actually taken the time to meet with their families, to talk to their families, to honor our children and to call them by their names,” she said, adding, “President Trump knows the names of our 13 children.”
Barnett said he was the one who encouraged the Trump campaign to have the former president visit Arlington National Cemetery that day to pay tribute to Gold Star children.
“It was a wonderful day. President Trump has been a source of peace and a shoulder to lean on. [a] “They listened to us from the very beginning, so it was a great day,” she said, going on record to say there had been no violation of rules, something other Gold Star families described as shocking, despite Harris' attempts to politicize Trump's visit in social media posts.
As Vice President, I had the opportunity to visit Arlington National Cemetery several times. It is a solemn place, a place where we come together to honor American heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
It is not the place for politics.

“They knew we wanted photos … and they knew that from the beginning,” she said, explaining that they wanted photos for those who couldn't be there.
We didn't break any rules. No rules were broken. They just can't stand that Trump did something that they couldn't. They hate him, so whatever he does, they attack, and they start attacking us, Gold Star families.
She explained that this raises the question of what is prohibited from hating and attacking Democrats.
“Gold Star families are off limits and they're throwing daggers at him, so the hatred towards him is [Trump]”It's more than I could have ever imagined and it just makes me sick because, like I said, it was such a beautiful day,” Burnett added. “The ceremony was beautiful and our hearts were lifted. We felt peace for a few hours and that was needed.”
