A 23-year-old woman shot and killed a home invasion suspect in Chicago on Wednesday morning. WGN-TV reported.
According to the police department, just after 6:40 a.m., officers responded to a home in the 700 block of North Laramie on the city's west side for a report of a shooting.
One of the suspects, an unidentified man, was shot in the chest and pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital, WGN reported.
Police believe two suspects broke into the home and displayed a firearm, WGN reported, adding that a woman inside the home pulled out a gun herself, and a shootout began.
The police department said the woman had a valid Firearm Owners Identification Card.
One of the suspects, an unidentified man, was shot in the chest and pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital, WGN reported.
No other injuries were reported, the police department said, adding it was unclear whether the other suspect was in custody.
Detectives are investigating the murder. WLS-TV reported.
