40-year-old man allegedly shot and set on fire after woman finds him in bed with her daughter in Philadelphia

A Philadelphia woman was shot and killed by her boyfriend after he found her in bed with her daughter, police sources said.

Pennsylvania State Police said they were called to a home on Lansdowne Road at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 25 for a report of someone screaming.

“Police have recommended to the district attorney that charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault be filed against the couple.”

When firefighters arrived on scene, they found a 40-year-old man with extensive burns and other serious injuries who was taken to Jefferson University Hospital in critical condition.

neighbor He told WTAF-TV They heard screams from a ground-floor apartment and then saw a man staggering out of the building, breathing fire. People running along the street stopped their cars to help the man.

Police said they arrested a 35-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man at the scene.

According to WTAF, police sources said the woman found the victim in bed with her 18-year-old daughter and that the man's boyfriend shot him. The woman then allegedly poured flammable liquid on him and set him on fire.

Sources told WTAF that police have recommended to the district attorney that the couple be charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault, as well as numerous weapons charges. Neighbors also told police that the apartment dwellers were causing a lot of problems.

Investigators have not released the suspect's name and the investigation is ongoing.
