ABC News' Lindsey Davis, one of the two moderators of last week's presidential debate, Los Angeles Times The project is intended solely to fact-check former President Donald Trump, not Vice President Kamala Harris.
As Breitbart News noted, Davis and co-host David Muir fact-checked Trump seven times (many of them incorrectly) but never fact-checked Harris, even when she used fabrications, such as the “very fine people” in Charlottesville fabrication.
Davis said of Times ABC argued that it deliberately targeted only Trump because it believed he was not punished for making false statements during a CNN debate with President Joe Biden in late June.
As New York Post attention:
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Davis said she wanted to address concerns that Trump's comments would be “left alone” without being challenged by his opponent or the moderator, as happened when Trump and Biden debated on CNN in June.
“Davis, wearing rose-tinted glasses and speaking to The Times over breakfast at the Ritz-Carlton in Philadelphia, said his decision to try to correct the candidate was a response to his decision to drop out of the race after Biden's poor performance in the June 27 debate between President Trump and President Biden on CNN,” the Times reported.
“People are just shocked at the mere publication of the statement. [be] “There was no objection from then-candidate Biden or the moderators,” Davis told the outlet on Wednesday morning.
Davis acknowledged that the moderator had studied her past statements — “Politicians tend to say the same things over and over again” — but somehow wasn't prepared to check Harris' repeated fabrications. (Harris used the “very fine people” fabrication in her 2020 vice presidential debate with Mike Pence, after Pence fact-checked her onstage at the time.)
Biden also lied during the June debate, saying he “fabricated talented people,” and CNN did not fact-check the allegations.
