White House Officials Upset Harris ‘Did Not Stand Up for Biden’ 

White House officials are upset that Vice President Kamala Harris didn't defend the Biden-Harris administration's record and President Joe Biden's accomplishments during Tuesday's debate, according to ABC News senior White House correspondent Selina Wang.

The reported frustration comes as Harris faces a challenge due to the administration's failed policies: Campaigning on policies to improve crime, inflation and border security would undermine the Biden-Harris administration's policies, but she must tout them to justify her own record and her candidacy.

“Some White House officials were disappointed that Harris didn't defend Biden during the debate, a former Biden White House official told me.” king Posts About X. “Sources say many feel Harris was a missed opportunity and acknowledges Biden should be thanked for her contributions.”

The controversy came after Harris spoke poorly of the Biden-Harris administration in her second interview on Friday since joining the campaign.

Harris blasted the administration, saying its policies were not fit for the “21st century.” She also undermined her own record within the administration, suggesting she had a fresh “approach” with “new ideas” to the “current situation.”

“My approach is new ideas, new policies addressed to where we are today. And, honestly, my focus is very much on what do we need to do in the next 10, 20 years to catch up with the 21st century,” Harris told Brian Taff of Philadelphia's Action News 6 ABC.

“I'm obviously not Joe Biden, but, you know, I am proposing a new generation of leadership,” she said, citing examples of what the Biden-Harris administration has failed to achieve, such as helping people achieve the American Dream.
