Alleged would-be Trump assassin Ryan Routh has had several run-ins with law — including conviction of possessing a weapon of mass destruction

Trump's alleged shooter, Ryan Routh, has had multiple run-ins with the law over the years, including a 2002 conviction for possession of a weapon of mass destruction, according to online records from the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections.

Routh, 58, was arrested on Sunday after he allegedly pointed a gun at former President Donald Trump at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach.

The News & Record reported that Routh reached for a firearm when he was pulled over for a traffic violation, then drove to a roofing company and barricaded himself inside.
