Another poll suggests Taylor Swift's endorsement of Kamala Harris hasn't energized voters as much as Democrats had hoped.
In a new ABC News/Ipsos poll, just 6% of respondents release Sunday said the pop star's endorsement of Kamala Harris made them more likely to vote for her, while 13 percent said it made them less likely to support her, and a majority, 81 percent, said it had no effect either way.
The vast majority of those who responded negatively were supporters of former President Donald Trump, according to the poll.
ABC News was clearly biased towards Trump during last week's presidential debate, with hosts David Muir and Lindsey Davis constantly interrupting Trump to fact-check what he said, but never once fact-checking Harris, despite her repeated lies.
The new poll comes after another YouGov poll also found that Taylor Swift's support had not had the impact the left had hoped.
Just 8% of respondents said Swift's endorsement would make them “somewhat” or “a lot” more likely to vote for Kamala Harris, while 20% said it would make them “somewhat” or “a lot” more likely to vote for former President Donald Trump.
66% of respondents said Swift's endorsement had no impact.
Swift posted her endorsement on Instagram late Tuesday, clearly timed to come just after the presidential debate, in which she announced she would be voting for Kamala but tempered her enthusiasm by urging her millions of fans to do their own research and vote however they please.
Ms. Harris's muted endorsement comes as she remains unpopular among many young progressive voters because of the Gaza war. Anti-Israel progressives have protested Ms. Kamala's events and last month's Democratic National Convention, many of whom are now flocking to alternative candidates such as the Green Party's Jill Stein.
