Trump Will Implement ‘Mass Expulsions of American Citizens’

Former White House adviser Susan Rice claimed on MSNBC's “Morning Joe” on Wednesday that Donald Trump would carry out “mass deportations of American citizens” if he were to return to the White House.

“I'd love to hear your comments on Springfield and what President Trump plans to do in general with regards to denaturalization proceedings and mass deportations,” host Mika Brzezinski said.

Rice said, “This is absolutely horrifying. We've been hearing for months about plans for mass deportations of illegal immigrants in the United States. It would be very violent and chaotic, it would tear apart families, it would force the removal of millions of people. But what he's saying now is something completely different, it's even more horrifying. He's saying, remember last week when Donald Trump said he was going to deport Haitians who are in the country legally, with authorization, out of Springfield and send them to Venezuela? He's been very clear about deporting immigrants who are in the country legally, but then he's said something even more outrageous, which is reflected in Stephen Miller's social media posts, which is that he's going to deport and denaturalize U.S. citizens, U.S. citizens who weren't born in the United States.”

She continued, “America has more than 25 million naturalized citizens. They are law-abiding, taxpaying people, and they have families in this country. They are fathers, mothers, children, our neighbors, and American citizens. The Trump Administration has created an office in the Department of Justice to denaturalize American citizens.”

She added: “There has been a sharp rise in the number of people being deported on false pretenses, perhaps because they don't like the country they come from. Can you imagine what it would mean for this country if American citizens who are living in this country legally and with their families could wake up one day to find their citizenship stripped and deported? Now that the Supreme Court has ruled that US President Donald Trump can do whatever he wants with his presidency with immunity if he becomes president again, this will lead to mass deportations of American citizens.”

Rice concluded: “Since the Supreme Court has established that there are literally no constraints on the President's ability to carry out his duties, there is nothing to stop the federal government from going into people's homes and separating their families without due process if it doesn't like the color of their skin, their country of origin, their religion or anything else that's in this country as lawful Americans.”
