Bulwark Publisher Sarah Longwell said on CNN's “The Lead” on Wednesday that former President Donald Trump's campaign was “the most vicious, despicable and lying campaign we've ever seen.”
“My kids keep me humble. Unfortunately, Kamala Harris has nothing to keep her humble,” said Michigan Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R-Arkansas) at a Trump campaign event in the state.
“I heard what was said and I listened because it was pointed out, and I think what was before me was a woman who was talking about wanting to fight for her family, wanting to fight for her children, wanting to remain humble,” said Machala Carr, a former general counsel to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
“Do you really think she wasn't trying to point out that Vice President Kamala Harris doesn't have any biological children?” host Jake Tapper asked.
“I don't think people think that way,” Carr said.
Longwell said, “First of all, I don't know what to make of what she said. But more importantly, JD Vance goes on every weird bro podcast and makes sure to talk about not just 'kidless catty women,' but that women in abusive relationships should stay in them. The way he defends people like Laura Loomer, who said Kamala Harris would smell like curry if she were in the White House.”
She added: “This latest round of terrorizing the residents of Springfield with racist slurs about eating dogs and cats has reached its most egregious. This is the most vicious, despicable and lying campaign I have ever seen, even compared to the rather vile campaigns that Donald Trump ran in 2016 and 2020.”
