The pollster also asked who won the Sept. 10 debate, which Trump lost to Harris by 32 points, 55 percent to 23 percent.

“The race is extremely close among voters age 50 and older, with Trump leading by two points,” the pollster reports. “Among voters age 50 and older, Trump has a 10-point lead among those ages 50-64, but Harris has a six-point lead among seniors.”

“Harris is leading with the near-unanimous support of Democrats and an 11-point lead among independents.”

In 2020, President Joe Biden is said to have won Wisconsin by 0.7 percentage points. However, polls show 6.7 Points.

Trump won Wisconsin by 0.7 percentage points in 2016, but polls projected him to lose the state to Hillary Clinton. 6.5 Points.

If the polls in 2024 are half as bad as they were in 2020 and 2016, Trump will be re-elected. The question is whether pollsters have figured out what went wrong in the past and corrected their mistakes.

Wisconsin wasn't the only state that was won by a narrow margin in the battleground states that would determine the outcome of the election. Every state was won by a narrow margin. According to the RealClearPolitics average poll of battleground states, State PollTrump is at +1.3 in Arizona, +0.4 in North Carolina and +0.7 in Georgia. Harris is at +0.5 in Nevada, +1.1 in Wisconsin, +1.0 in Michigan and +0.6 in Pennsylvania.

Nationally, Harris 2 points49.3% to 47.3%.

Most betting markets are all within one or two points.

Trump seemed to be leading in the polls leading up to the debate, and then he clearly lost. But Harris isn't making much of her victory. She's not in the running. But that will mean a lot of walking the tightrope over the next six weeks, coupled with more self-destructive mistakes by Trump. Trump is very capable of making self-destructive mistakes (like he did in the debates), but…

As we saw in 2016 and 2020, Trump knows how to end a presidential election.
