Victor Davis Hanson, a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution, warned on his podcast Thursday that only the Biden-Harris administration and the Secret Service can thwart further assassination attempts against former President Donald Trump.

“This is going to continue until one of two things happens: the president of the United States or the vice president – and she certainly can't – says, 'Let's stop comparing each other to mass murderers throughout history,'” Hanson said.
“Adolf Hitler devised the Final Solution, which killed six million people and started a war that killed 70 million. Neither I nor my opponent have anything to do with it or resemble it,” Hanson continued. “No sane person could compare me or him to that.”
Harris, December 2023 said MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell said it was “right” that people were likening Trump to Hitler and that his “words” were “dividing us.” Trump has since: Called According to Fox News Digital, Biden and Harris' “rhetoric” is driving the attacks against him.

“Someone's going to say, 'If I were you, I wouldn't even think about shooting a major candidate, the president, the vice president, because we're going to be so aggressive that you won't know what hit you,'” Hanson said. “Just say it, as Chuck Schumer said. Unless we do that, we're going to have more crazy guys like Routh,” Hanson said.
The second assassination attempt against President Trump came after suspect Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, fired multiple shots at the former president and his supporters at a rally in Pennsylvania on July 13. Following the incident, the Secret Service faced immediate backlash as witnesses and local officials had seen Crooks multiple times at the rally.
