In a shocking CNN report published Thursday, Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson (R-North Carolina) was identified as the man behind an account on an online pornography message board that posted racist and sexually explicit messages more than a decade ago, including one about him spying on women in the shower as a teenager.
CNN's Andrew Kaczynski and M. Steck Reported The revelations in the story Thursday afternoon had been widely expected after reports circulated earlier in the day that they were in the works. Robinson, the Tar Heel State's Republican gubernatorial candidate, has denied all the allegations.
Kaczynski and Steck identified Robinson as the owner of an account called “minisoldr” on the pornographic website Nude Africa, which had posted sexually explicit messages on Nude Africa's message boards between 2008 and 2012, including a love of transgender porn and memories of peeping into women's locker rooms.
“I love watching trans on girl porn! So hot! Leave the guy in and let the guy out!,” minisoldr once wrote. “And yes, I'm a 'pervert' too!”
The account user, who gave his full name as Mark Robinson, also said he fondly recalled seeing women showering in a public gym when he was 14.
“I came to a dead end where there were two big vent covers! Which happened to overlook the showers! I sat there for like an hour watching some girls come and shower,” the user wrote on Nude Africa, adding that he tried again the next day but was unsuccessful.
Robinson also allegedly spoke in support of Adolf Hitler, calling him a “black Nazi,” and saying he wanted slavery reinstated, adding that he would buy slaves if that happened.
Robinson's numerous personal accounts on Twitter, YouTube, Disqus, Pinterest and BlackPlanet, a non-pornographic website he owned for many years, were operated under the same handle or alias “minisoldr” that he allegedly used for Nude Africa, according to CNN.
CNN has confirmed that the email address to which the Nude Africa website “minisoldr” was or is registered is the same as the email address registered to Robinson's Disqus account. Robinson has used the same phrases in posts on his account that minisoldr used on Nude Africa, and the two share similar interests.
In a video posted to X shortly before CNN broke the story, Robinson denied all the allegations.
“Folks, the news media is at it again. My opponent is at it again. You've seen Josh Stein's half-truths and outright lies over and over again in these ads, and now the story he leaked to CNN is now being made public,” he said.
“Rest assured, what you will see in this article are not Mark Robinson's words. You know my words. You know my character. And you know I have been fully transparent in this campaign and before,” he added.
Robinson added that the report amounted to “salacious tabloid trash.”
