California Cat Makes Incredible 1000-Mile Journey Home

A Salinas, California couple is still in disbelief after being reunited with their lost cat who went on a mysterious journey to find them.

Benny and Suzanne Anguiano love taking their cats camping, but during a visit to Yellowstone National Park in June, their cat, Rainbow, got startled and ran off into the woods, KSBW Reported Thursday:

The couple searched for days for their beloved pet, but eventually left the park without it and with broken hearts.

“That was the hardest day because I felt like I was abandoning him,” Suzanne recalls.

Couple Returned She returned home to Salinas without her beloved pet, but 60 days later, everything changed when a company called PetWatch sent her a microchip containing the cat's ID and location. New York Post.

Rainbow had been taken in by the local SPCA in Roseville, California, about 200 miles from Salinas' home, after a good Samaritan in the area had apparently noticed the lost cat and brought her to the facility.

But no one knows how Rainbow made the 800 miles from the national park to Roseville.

In a social media post on Tuesday, Suzanne said“I've never told this story on Facebook because it was so devastating, but I'm now ready to share how I lost my cat, Rainbow, in Yellowstone National Park on June 4th and was found 60 days later in Roseville, California.

“If you want the full story, tune into KSBW News tonight at 11. We've just interviewed people to try to identify those who may have helped him from Yellowstone to Roseville,” she added.

It was so devastating that I never told the story on Facebook, but now I'm ready to tell the story of how we lost…
