Black Undecided Swing-State Voter Panel Overwhelmingly Says ‘Economy Was Better Under Trump’

A panel of Black undecided voters at polling places in Georgia on Thursday overwhelmingly agreed that former President Donald Trump's economy outperformed the market economy under the Biden-Harris administration.

After the Sept. 10 debate between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, the former president led Trump 55% to 35% when viewers were asked which option they thought would be better for the economy. “He still has a business mind, and I think that plays a little bit into it. I think there's definitely trickle-down and what's happened in the past, and I think he handles certain things a little better,” said Brianna, 29, who voted for Trump in 2020 and plans to vote for him again this time.

“He provided more jobs, more opportunity, a stimulus package. He had no political experience, but he came into office and did a much better job,” said Leonard, 54, who voted for President Joe Biden in 2020 and plans to vote for Harris in 2024. “If you look at the statistics now, things are much worse than they were.”

“Biden and Harris have made everything worse,” Leonard added, according to the Daily Mail's report of the panel.

More than 50% of voters believe Trump can manage the economy better. According to Trump currently has the support of 15% of black voters, according to a New York Times/Siena College poll released Thursday.

Additionally, according to the Daily Mail, a 64-year-old voter named Hayward, who also voted for Biden in 2020 and is now supporting Harris, said, “Trump didn't make all the right choices, but the economy performed better under him. I think his overall business mindset helped.”

Black male voters in Georgia told Sky News in an August video that they support Trump because they believe his bold personality, business acumen and economic record as president make him an attractive candidate.

“Some people don't like him, but I think he's a smart businessman,” one voter said. “Some people want to call him a jerk, but I think he's a great jerk.”
