AUSTIN, Texas — Texas Governor Greg Abbott tells Breitbart Texas that U.S. voters won't be fooled by Vice President Kamala Harris' sudden interest in the U.S.-Mexico border. Harris is scheduled to visit the border near Douglas, Arizona, later Friday.
“Americans will not fall for this,” Abbott told Breitbart Abbott in an exclusive interview Friday. “This didn't happen four years ago under President Trump. All they (Biden-Harris) had to do was maintain the policies that President Trump put in place that resulted in a secure border. Ta.”
“But instead, they abolished all of those policies,” Abbott said.
“But worse than that, this is what Americans know,” the governor continued, “that what Kamala Harris has done in the past, on videotape, for example, is exactly what she stands for. The same thing, she was against criminalizing border crossing' illegally. She opposed the use of ICE to crack down on immigration violations. She was in favor of providing free health care to illegal immigrants. She is creating a magnet that will make it impossible to crack down on illegal immigration. ”
Governor Abbott concluded, “As bad as illegal immigration was under Joe Biden, Kamala Harris' policies are even worse than Joe Biden's.” “And if she is elected president, this country will be destroyed.”
Vice President Harris is scheduled to visit Douglas, Arizona, later Friday. He is expected to comment on future policies regarding border security and illegal immigration. It is unclear whether the Democratic presidential candidate will take questions from reporters during his visit.
