‘You’re gonna die’: Chaotic anti-Israel protest leads to multiple arrests as Netanyahu visits NYC

New York City, New York — Thousands of protesters took to the streets of Manhattan to voice their anger at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who visited the United Nations for the United Nations General Assembly and over Israel's actions in its war with Hamas and Hezbollah. demanded his arrest.

Tensions have increased in the city in recent days as Israeli forces have carried out multiple attacks on Hezbollah positions and the terrorist organization's leadership in southern Lebanon.

Thursday's protests were organized by anti-Israel groups including the ANSWER coalition and Within Our Lifetime. Each of their protests disrupted traffic and caused people to march through Manhattan.

As the evening progressed, the march became more unruly, with demonstrators taunting New York City police officers monitoring the crowd. At one point, police officers on bicycles were intercepted by protesters and forced to leave the area on bicycles.

“You're going to die!” shouted one protester. “You all die in the line of fire!”

Some members of the angry crowd did their best to thwart the NYPD's operations.

After numerous scuffles and jostlings, the NYPD ordered the crowd off the street and onto the sidewalk. When most of the crowd refused, officers began making arrests and further fighting broke out. During the first arrest, a crowd surrounded officers and officers had to push people away to make space.

In the final stages of the protest, some angry members of the crowd did their best to disrupt the NYPD's efforts. They threw trash and sidewalk objects onto the road and began obstructing police officers on bicycles and vehicles.
