Former President Trump will make a campaign stop outside Grand Rapids, Michigan on Friday afternoon, where he will deliver remarks focused on manufacturing and the economy.
His last visit to the Great Lakes state earlier this month came just days after the Secret Service thwarted an apparent second assassination attempt on the Republican candidate's life. In his campaign town hall, the former president painted a bleak picture of what will happen to the auto industry if he doesn't win in November, making exaggerated claims about the fate of thousands of jobs across the country.
Trump and his Democratic opponent, Vice President Harris, remain in close races in battleground states. With less than six weeks until Election Day, the former president currently leads by just over a point, with Harris receiving 47.7% of the vote to 48.8%, according to The Hill/Decision Desk Headquarters polling index. I am doing it.
President Trump is scheduled to host a town hall event Friday night in Warren, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit.
His remarks from FALK Productions in Walker, Mich., are scheduled for 2 p.m. ET.
