California couple goes viral for sharing top places to visit in the US ‘at least once in your life’

A traveler from California is gaining attention on TikTok by sharing some of the must-see spots in the US.

Stephen Gillock and his wife Gisele are content creators who have been traveling the world for years.

Jirok told Fox News Digital that during the pandemic, the couple taught themselves photography and took road trips to find beautiful places in their hometown.

“We have visited 35 states in the United States together and the last four years have been incredible,” he said.

Their social media account, titled 'The Lovers Passport', has 1 million followers and the pair shared their best suggestions for places to visit at least once in a lifetime.

Most of the spots on Gillock's must-see list are national parks, but he said they speak to the beauty of the United States and that international travel isn't necessarily necessary.

Sequoia National Park in California

“The first place we think of is Sequoia National Park,” Gillock said, adding, “This place blew our mind. [it has] The biggest tree in the world. ”

“We just went to the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee and thought it was very unique,” Gillock said.

“For those of us who grew up on the West Coast, we don't think of the East Coast as being that mountainous…because there are a lot of mountains on the West Coast,” he added.

Gillock said the national park is the most visited park in the United States and is “stunningly beautiful.”

Gillock recommended visiting New Mexico's White Sands National Park, especially at sunrise.

“We applied for permission to enter at sunrise,” he said, adding, “Normally there are hundreds of people everywhere in the park at sunset… but we had special admission to get in in the morning. Once I applied for permission, I had it all to myself.

Rocky Mountain National Park — Northern Colorado

Gillock said Rocky Mountain National Park is one of his and his wife's favorite places.

“I think this national park is very underrated because everyone talks about Boulder and other areas. But there's so much hiking and so many beautiful lakes just outside of Denver. , and you can actually access it,” he said.

Zion National Park — Southwest Utah

“It's such a beautiful place, so diverse,” he said, noting that hiking trails and rock climbing allow you to see the scenery from different perspectives.
