This flight was airplane torture.
A Connecticut man claims he suffered physical and mental injuries during a trip from Cairo to New York's JFK Airport, according to a federal lawsuit.
Jarek Nechipol, 31, was injured Aug. 17 aboard EgyptAir Flight 985 “when a rolling bag fell from the overhead bin above his reserved seat,” according to Manhattan federal filings.
In the lawsuit, he says the bag struck Nechipol in the face, causing “severe and permanent physical injuries,” including a “cracked” upper incisor.
To add insult to injury, the flight attendant moved the injured man to another seat on the plane, which was “damaged and not secured to the floor,” the lawsuit says.
Nechipol suffered neck and back injuries while enduring an 11-and-a-half hour flight in a “damaged and defective seat,” the filing said.
The lawsuit against EgyptAir seeks unspecified damages for pain, suffering and emotional distress.
Neither Nechipol's lawyer nor EgyptAir returned messages.
