Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker formally endorsed Missouri Republican Sen. Josh Hawley's re-election bid in an X post Sunday morning.
Mr. Butker began his advocacy by emphasizing the serious times we live in and how Hawley is the right leader for these times.
“Critical times call for serious action, and that's why I'm proud to support my friend, Sen. Josh Hawley.” @HawleyMO I will serve the great people of Missouri for another term,” Butker wrote. “I have seen with my own eyes a man who puts his Christian faith at the forefront of everything he does, and whose future titles and positions he will hold are those of husband and father. I understand that nothing is more important than that.”
Butker also announced new efforts to bring Christian voters to the polls.
“Also, upright pack This is as a way to promote and encourage Christian voters to vote so their voices are heard this November. ”
Butker made headlines in May when she gave a commencement speech at Benedictine College, criticizing President Biden's abortion, pro-LGBT policies and valuing motherhood over career.
The speech caused a huge backlash for Mr Bhatkar in mainstream media and social media. However, despite the hatred, Mr Butker later defended his views and refused to recant.
The Chiefs kicker endorsed President Trump this week, calling him the “most pro-life candidate” on the roster.
“I think I'm supporting the president who's going to be the most pro-life president, Donald Trump.” [is right on the] That's the topic that's most important to me,” Butker told Ingraham. “We want to fight for the most vulnerable, for the children who are going to be born. That is our priority.”
Butker and the top-ranked Chiefs will have a bye week in Week 6, preparing for a Super Bowl rematch against the 49ers in Week 7.
