Local police in California's Riverside County on Saturday issued a warning against former President Donald Trump after officers arrested a man who was allegedly armed and carrying multiple fake passes near the president's campaign rally in Coachella. He believes he may have thwarted a third assassination attempt.
To secure the gathering at Coachella, police established a double perimeter around the area within a half-mile radius of the event. People who lived in the area had to pass through checkpoints before returning home. Officers ensured that these residents did not proceed to the rally. Los Angeles Daily News Reported.
“That doesn't happen in Riverside County. We don't have the disease problems and violent protests that we have in Los Angeles. We're better than that.
Around 5 p.m., officers arrested Vem Miller at a checkpoint at the intersection of 52nd Street and Celebration Drive, inside a secure dual perimeter.
Miller, a 49-year-old Las Vegas man described as a right-leaning anti-government extremist, was pulled over in a black SUV, according to reports. Police said the man was in possession of a loaded shotgun and handgun, as well as a high-capacity magazine.

Miller was taken to the John J. Benoit Detention Center on charges of possession of a loaded firearm and possession of a large capacity magazine. He was released Sunday after posting $5,000 bail. KTLA Reported.
He is not scheduled to appear in court again on this charge until January 2, 2025.
