An Arizona sheriff is criticizing Vice President Kamala Harris after she said on “The View” that she would not change any policies enacted since President Biden took office.
“It's upsetting and insulting to hear that, because in the last three-and-a-half years, we've suffered tragedy after tragedy, the lives of children and countless others,” Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels said. “I've seen the worst of it,” he said. Monday on “America's Newsroom.”
The number of encounters at the Southwest border under the Biden-Harris administration increased by 241.5% compared to the Trump administration.

At a recent Univision town hall, Ms. Harris also defended her record on the border.
“I was the top law enforcement officer in California, the largest state in this country. It's also a border state. I've faced transnational criminal organizations, dealing in guns, drugs, and human trafficking. “I have confronted transnational criminal organizations,'' and I have prosecuted them. The work I have done and will continue to do to ensure a secure border. ”
Dannels said he and others at the border are being “intellectually shunned and abandoned” by the Biden-Harris administration.
“She asked me why, and I explained it all to her. We had an invitation, but they never honored our invitation as sheriff. And , listening to what she just said, if anything, she just said, hey, we could invite you as sheriff,' try harder and say things to that effect. ” Dannels said.
“She just said in the media that she's not going to change anything Biden did. That's an insult to us here at the border. It really is.”
In response, Dannels said Trump “engaged, worked on, prioritized” border security and “made a difference.”
Dannels said he was not surprised that former President Trump received support from the Border Patrol.
“I haven't found a single employee who comes up to me and says, 'Sheriff, we're working on the border.' Just the opposite. They want hope, and President Trump is their hope.”

President Trump said, “I'm very honored.'' “They said unanimously. Thousands.”
He then invited Paul Perez, president of the National Border Security Council, to the stage.
Perez said he has a message for everyone in the audience.
“If we allow border czar Harris to win, every city and every community in this great country will go to hell,” Perez said. “The millions of people our government allows into this country who commit murder, rape, burglary, burglary, and all sorts of other crimes will continue to endanger our country without scrutiny.
“There's only one man who can fix it, and that's Donald J. Trump,” he continued. “He has always stood by the people who protect this border and risk their lives for our country.”
