Pennsylvania woman sentenced to life for murders of 2 young children found hanging in home’s basement

A Pennsylvania woman was sentenced to two life sentences without parole after being found guilty of killing her two young children, who were found hanging in the basement of their home in September 2019. Ta.

Lisa Snyder, 41, is the first suspect in the deaths of Connor, 8, and Brinley, 4, whose bodies were found in their home in Albany Township, about 90 miles northwest of Philadelphia, last month. Johnson said this was the most violent murder she had heard of during her time on the bench. He also said the defendant had shown no remorse.

Owen Snyder, 22, was the older brother of the children who died and was 17 at the time of his death. He called his mother a “monster” and said he no longer considered her his mother.

He also talked about how his deceased siblings would never have the chance to be aunts and uncles to his newborn son, and how he would never get to see what kind of people they would grow up to be.

“If I could turn back time, I would do it just to hear their voices,” he said.

The defendant told police that Connor had been bullied and threatened to take his life. But authorities said they found no evidence to support her claims. Although the boy, who was seen on school bus security video the day he was found, showed no signs of trouble, an occupational therapist later determined that the boy was not capable of causing such harm to himself or his sister. He said he had no physical ability.

Police also noted that the defendant had searched online for information on suicide, hanging, and methods of killing people. She also searched for an episode of the documentary crime series called “I Most Got Away With It.”

The coroner ruled both deaths homicides and said both children were killed by hanging.

The defense had asked for acquittal, arguing that the case was based on speculation and “conjecture.” The defendant had asked not to appeal the third-degree murder charge, except that he was mentally ill, but the judge rejected the plea deal.
