Imagine having a small heart monitor on your wrist. You can do this using the Apple Watch ECG app, which lets you take an electrocardiogram (also known as an ECG or EKG), which represents the electrical pulses that make your heart beat.
This innovative feature can provide valuable insight and alert you to anomalies.
The ECG app on all models of Apple Watch Series 4 and later and Apple Watch Ultra produces an ECG that is similar to a single-lead (or I-lead) ECG. Let's take a closer look at how to set up and use this amazing tool.

Cart important points
The Apple Watch ECG app is a powerful tool for monitoring your heart health. This provides valuable insight and could potentially detect serious conditions such as atrial fibrillation. The ability to take an EKG anytime, anywhere and easily share the results with your healthcare provider is truly revolutionary. However, it's important to remember that while ECG apps are FDA cleared, they are not a substitute for professional medical care. Always talk to your health care provider if you have concerns about your heart health or if your electrocardiogram readings show abnormal results.
