‘It was well worth it’: 49er Nick Bosa doesn’t regret risking fines by wearing a MAGA hat on the field

San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa said he doesn't regret wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat on the field at Levi's Stadium, even if he was fined.

“Nick, you might get fined for your hat, how do you feel about that?” one reporter asked.

Botha paused and thought, then said, “I don't know, I don't have it yet. If you're going to come, I'll come.”

“Going in, did you feel like it was a possibility?” a second reporter asked.

Clearly trying to be cautious, Botha calmly replied, “It was worth it.”

“I don't think my position on speaking about this issue will change. Obviously the people spoke and we got what we got,” he added.

“I was awake,” Bosa said, but the media session was quickly ended by 49ers staff.

Bosa was just one of several Trump-related headlines in the NFL leading up to the 2024 election. Bosa's teammates also supported the president.

A group of fans clashed with security, who told them they were not allowed to wear political T-shirts of any kind inside the venue.

Fans debated, but according to Highmark stadium guide“Attire or material containing profane language, obscene graphics, or anything of a political nature” is prohibited inside the venue.

The NFL does not have a league-wide ban on such content, but as with some political issues, the decision is left to each team.
