‘You are the media now’: Elon Musk heralds the death of legacy journalism

Following Donald Trump's second victory in the presidential election, mainstream media is back on the hot seat, with viewers wondering how and why network anchors didn't report straight in their coverage. I have doubts.

It seems like it's taking forever (and pointlessly) for the networks to declare the election for President Trump, and there's always an ever-present distrust of mainstream media as the votes pour in on election night. I saw it. Case in point: CNN didn't announce Trump's election until well after 5 a.m. ET.

On election night, it seemed like the reality of Trump's victory would never settle in for network anchors. Despite the clear shift in priorities among the American people, broadcasters continued to maintain that Kamala Harris might still become president well after midnight.

CNN's Jake Tapper was shocked to learn how much Vice President Harris underperformed, despite the Harris campaign's platitudes and non-answers.

According to “The View,'' Harris said “perfectHe campaigned even though he lost millions of votes to Trump.

On MSNBC, blame for the loss was immediately placed on “white women” and “racism” Despite the record numbers for Republicans, it didn't seem that way on the part of Latino voters.

At the same time, cable news's blatant disregard for national sentiment was painfully obvious, especially to a man named Elon Musk.

“Now you are the media,” Musk posted. × After 1am

mask later noticed“The future is going to be great,” he said as he continues to promote transportation to the X. Record usage A scene from the podium on election night.

“News should come from the people. From the people who are actually on the ground, who are the actual experts in the field.”Musk saidreflecting what has become one of the most popular forms of modern journalism.

Musk has championed free speech on his platform, and as a result, one content creator and journalist after another has jumped ship, confident that most of X's content will not be degraded in any way. Ta.

“Mainstream media has always been a hub of misinformation.”

Social media coordinator and field journalist Yaakov Pollack Without Musk, he told Blaze News, “it would be much harder to tell people the truth.”

He added: “Trust in mainstream media is at an all-time low and has been very low for some time. I certainly think so.” [mainstream media] It will continue to play a role in calling elections. But I think more and more people are turning to X and other alternative media. ”

Pollack added that “some independent journalists will play a larger role in the future.”

This sentiment was shared by Oren Levy. viral news video They have reported dozens of stories about New York City's immigrant hotels and the mayor's office.

“Mainstream media has always been a hub of misinformation,” he says. “There's always a political agenda at play with them. There are some things they don't want to touch on, even if they're big issues. They're losing a lot of trust.”

Levy added that he believes mainstream media is forced to turn a blind eye to some stories because of donors who “don't want us to see everything that's really going on.”

Musk agreed in a separate statement, saying the reality of the election was “clear” from his platform despite mainstream media reporting.

Musk went on to say that “legacy media has lied” and reiterated his new catchphrase: “You are now the media.”

But at the same time, Levy warned that misinformation is everywhere on social media platforms, including from X.

“Some people are turning themselves into mainstream media, and more and more people are showing up in these media.” [protests]but they have a clear purpose. “Independent media is definitely making inroads,” he concluded.

For now, Musk is pushing for more video integration and even news story integration, making his platform increasingly an alternative to networks, especially given that it comes with and offers recurring payments. It seems like it's starting to look like a product.
