Detectives later learned that Alvarado Saenz and Robles Ochoa “had problems in their relationship and intended to separate,” the sheriff's office said.

The sheriff's office said the firearm used in the incident was “confirmed to have been stolen from Alvarado Saenz's employer and was not discovered missing until after this incident.”
