A Texas woman shot and killed an armed man who tried to “forcefully” enter her home on Friday, according to local authorities.
The DeSoto Police Department said Friday, around 7:54 p.m., there was an “active disturbance” in the 400 block of Raintree Circle, and a female caller responded to dispatch saying an unknown man was in her backyard with a pistol. Police said they were dispatched to the scene after a report was made.
While calling 911, dispatching officers heard screams and screams as a man “attempted to force entry into the home through the rear garage door,” police said.
At the same time, neighbors living on the street reported gunshots nearby.

Police responded to the woman's home within three minutes of the call and found the woman in front of her home, where she said she thought he had shot the man “somewhere in the back of the house.”
Once inside the home, police found the man, identified as 35-year-old Octavio Flores Mondragon, lying on the ground in the garage with a pistol lying next to him. He had been shot twice, once in the chest and once in the face.

He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

The woman reportedly told officers that after leaving a nearby Taco Bell, she noticed a black truck following her home. FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth. The truck followed her into the neighborhood and into the driveway behind her car.

The woman ran inside, called 911, and armed herself with a handgun. When Mr. Mondragon tried to enter her home, she fired at him multiple times, hitting him twice.

Mongladon is charged with first-degree burglary, breaking and entering with intent to commit another felony. Police say a motive has not been determined.
