Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson addresses rumors he was chronically late to set, allegedly cost production millions

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson addressed rumors that rocked headlines earlier this year regarding professionalism on film sets.

In a profile for GQ magazine, Johnson recalled: of rap Article about his upcoming film 'Red One'. The newspaper claimed in the original film, released in April, that Johnson was “chronically late” to the set, which cost the production “several million dollars.”

“Yeah, it happens,” Johnson said of his lateness, before criticizing the amount reported by The Wrap. “But by the way, it's not that amount. It's the amount of bananas. That's crazy. It's ridiculous,” he said he told GQ.

Representatives for Mr. Johnson did not respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

“Red One” director Jake Kasdan told GQ that Johnson “never missed a day of work. He's got a lot going on. Sometimes he's late, but… That's Hollywood and that's true for everyone. Honestly, that's how I've worked.” I worked with him on three big movies and he was nothing but great to everyone on set. ”

Johnson's co-star Chris Evans also defended Johnson, saying his experience working with her was different from the rumors circulating.

Evans noted that Johnson consistently had morning workouts before arriving on set.

“But this is something that the producer, director and his entire team know. So it's all basic. It's not like he's unexpectedly late and I wouldn't even call it late. He doesn't say, 'He'll be late on certain mornings, but it's built into the schedule and everyone knows it, so he shows up on time,''' Evans said. Ta.

The Wrap also reported in the spring that Johnson was “peeing in a bottle” on set, which Johnson confirmed.

“Yeah, that happens sometimes,” he told GQ.

Mr Johnson told the outlet he was very candid and would take on matters where he had to take “responsibility”.

“I've said a thousand times: 'Hey, I'm here. Come and listen and I'll tell you the truth,'” he said.

“Red One” is a holiday film in which Johnson plays Callum Drift, Santa's bodyguard, who joins Evans' bounty hunter character to track down a kidnapped man.

In addition to Johnson and Evans, the film also stars Kiernan Shipka, Lucy Liu, and J.K. Simmons.

Evans told GQ about his time on the set of Red One, when Johnson was attending an event he called “Five Dollar Fridays.” The media outlet explained that the cast and crew of the film production will purchase lottery tickets and a lottery will be held at the end of the day.

“I mean, Dwayne always did that,” Evans said, “but one day, and I'm not exaggerating, I forgot what the numbers were. The pot was up to four or five grand or so. Before they could pull out a name, Dwayne said, “What's the pot now?” And someone said, “I don't know, four grand.” And he said, “Let's say 20 years old.” Then they pulled out the names and whoever won would lose.

“Dwayne said, 'You know what? Should we do it again? How about 30 people this time?' Everybody went crazy and said, 'How about another one?' And it was $50. “I think in one Friday, Dwayne donated close to $100,000,” he concluded.
