White House Meeting Between Trump, Biden Ran Nearly 2 Hours

WASHINGTON, DC – President-elect Donald Trump and President Joe Biden met for nearly two hours at the White House on Wednesday, following Trump's landslide victory last week.

Trump left just before 1 p.m. ET, according to Fox News, which noted that the meeting “lasted well over an hour and a half.”

Meeting between President Trump and former President Barack Obama in November 2016 continued Almost an hour and a half.

It is not yet clear what Biden and Trump discussed in private, but their brief meeting in front of members of the media in the Oval Office marked a historic moment in American history. It will remain.

“Now then, President-elect Donald and former President Donald, Congratulations'' Biden said as he shook Trump's hand.

President Trump responded, “Thank you.”

Biden stressed that both countries are committed to a “smooth transition of power,” and that his administration will “do everything in our power to make sure you are able to respond.”

The president-elect graciously expressed his gratitude to Mr. Biden.

“Politics is tough. A lot of times it's not a very good world, but today it's a good world and I'm very grateful,” Trump said. “It's going to be a very smooth transition, and it couldn't have been smoother. Thank you very much for that, Joe.”

Mr. Biden then thanked the reporters, who began asking questions loudly. Trump gestured toward reporters and smiled at Biden, who did not take questions.

The visit marked President Trump's second event in Washington, D.C., on the same day. Prior to his meeting with Biden, Trump gave his first address as president-elect to the House Republican Conference at the U.S. Capitol.

“Wouldn't it be nice to win? I'm happy to win,” President Trump said at the beginning of his remarks.

He also praised House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) during the meeting, noting that Democrats are reeling after last week's landslide victory and worried about the future of blue-leaning states. He said he has supported it “forever.” I will report it.
