In an interview on NBC's “Meet the Press” Sunday, Psaki asked how Democrats are regaining their footing and “starting to chart a path forward” after losing the White House, Senate and House of Representatives. It was done.

The former White House press secretary said Harris' defeat is an opportunity for an upstart Democratic leader to “seize the mantle” and lead a party still reeling from a series of devastating election defeats.
“To me, that's an opportunity, because people have to make a decision. No one's giving it to them, right? You either grab the mantle or you don't,” Psaki said. “Are you going to be the one who decides who's fit to stand up to Trump? Or are you going to be the one who unites the country? Are you going to be the one who talks about the economy and how to do it?
