Jason Johnson, MSNBC's political contributor, said that Kamala Johnson has claimed that Elon Musk's Starlink internet satellite manipulated machines to inform President-elect Donald Trump of election results, resulting in fraudulent vote counting. He denounced the conspiracy theories being spread online by supporters of Vice President Harris.
Johnson appeared on Joy Reid's show “The ReidOut” on Monday to discuss conspiracy theories shared on various social media platforms including X, Bluesky and TikTok.
Johnson likened the phenomenon to the “election denialism” spread by President-elect Donald Trump and his supporters in 2020.
His comment is Mediaite reported.
Two weeks after the election, Prime Minister Johnson said, “Conspiracies around the result are still rampant, but this time they are being seen across the aisle, with some on the left questioning the legitimacy of the result.” I'm watching,” he said.
Mr. Johnson cited the theory that Mr. Musk's satellite internet provider, Starlink, hacked the vote tabulation machines and falsified the tally in Mr. Trump's favor.
“At this point, there is absolutely no evidence that any of that is true,” Johnson said.
“Needless to say, voting machines will not be connected to the internet during the election process.”
Mr Johnson said the false claims “spread like wildfire on social media, garnering tens of millions of views on sites like TikTok, “We are proving that we are not influenced by misinformation.”
“I have been personally inundated with inquiries from concerned friends and relatives” about the theory that Musk rigged the election, he said.
An influx of social media users is joining rival apps like Bluesky and Threads following Musk's active role in helping Trump win and President-elect Harris defeat. Musk owns X after acquiring the company formerly known as Twitter for $44 billion in 2022.
Since Election Day, at least 1.25 million people have signed up for Bluesky, the decentralized platform founded by former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.
Threads, the Meta-owned app created to combat X, declined to say how many users have joined since the beginning of this month.
However, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently announced that Threads now has more than 275 million monthly users, up from 150 million in April.
