Dana White says media and politicians ‘most hated’ people

UFC president Dana White explained that he believes he won the 2024 election the same way Donald Trump has built his brand.

At the UFC 309 post-fight press conference, White was asked how Trump's election would affect his company, given that many of his fighters have ties to the president.

At the event, multiple fighters, including heavyweight champion Jon Jones, spoke to President Trump at ringside, where he thanked the president and handed him his belt.

“If you look at the election, the whole country is empathizing with Trump right now,” White said, pointing to Trump's victories in battleground states. “It feels like someone hit the reset button.”

White added that he feels voters want a “big loss” for one candidate or the other to avoid conflict over what direction to take the country.

“I think everyone's tired of the bullsh*t, come on. We're all tired. We all just want to live our lives, run our businesses, and feed our families.” ” continued the CEO.

“No one will trust them and no one will believe them.”

White, who acknowledged that most of the media members in front of him were not Trump supporters, paved the way for Trump's victory by saying it was through nontraditional means.

Explaining his “philosophy,” White said he has built relationships with online influencers and podcasters over the years, allowing him to bypass traditional media, which is highly disliked by voters.

“The most hated people in the world right now are the media and the politicians. No one trusts them, no one believes them,” White argued.

Speaking directly to voters through podcasts, influencers and social media is the exact same methodology that built White's brand of slap fight, Power Slap.

“The way Power Slap was built is how we're going to win this election,” the 55-year-old says. said.

White described the differences he saw in major “blue” cities like New York before and after the election. Random people ran up to him and expressed their gratitude, citing their experiences.

This, combined with a positive change in energy, created a feeling that “a burden had been lifted from the country.”

“The situation is already improving. [Trump’s] We’re not even there yet,” White said.

President Trump is known for actively embracing new media. Podcast appearances by comedians such as Joe Rogan and Theo Von and young influencers such as Nerk Boyz and Adin Roth have undoubtedly encouraged more 18- to 29-year-olds to come to the polls.

Exit polls showed that Mr. Trump gained significant support among young people, defeating Vice President Kamala Harris by 14 points. Trump also gained support from young female voters, increasing his approval rating by 7 points from 2020, from 33% to 40%.
