Jerusalem Sign Celebrates Trump Victory: ‘Welcome back Dear friend!’

A large billboard along a Jerusalem highway that once praised President Joe Biden now celebrates President-elect Donald Trump's victory by saying, “Welcome home, dear friend!” Above a photo of Trump smiling, it says:

In October 2023, the same billboard featured an image of Biden holding an American flag and an Israeli flag, with the simple words: “Thank you!” Israelis thanked Biden for his visit and arms supplies after the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks.

But the image was removed from a billboard along Emek Rephaim Street, a predominantly American area of Jerusalem known as the German colony, as Biden began to become more critical of Israel and sought to rein in the war effort.

President Trump's sign recalls some of the glorified street decorations from the opening of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem in 2018. At the time, local residents raved about the 45th president's promise of bipartisanship.

“Thank you President Trump.” Jerusalem, Israel. May 2025 (Joel Pollack/Breitbart News)

As Breitbart News reported in October, polls of Israelis show overwhelming support for Trump in the U.S. presidential election, with little support for Democratic candidate Vice President Kamala Harris. Ta. One poll showed Trump's approval rating among Israelis at 66%, while Harris' approval rating was only 17%.
Israelis hope that Mr. Trump will defeat their enemies and reach peace agreements with Arab countries that want to move beyond the conflicts of the last century.
