Weeks before Delaware Congresswoman-elect Sarah McBride became the first transgender lawmaker to enter Congress, South Carolina Republican Congresswoman Nancy Mace announced that McBride and other transgender individuals would be the first transgender individuals to enter Congress. He introduced a bill that would prohibit people from using restrooms and changing rooms.
Pat Gray and the “Unleashed” panel discuss this issue.
“I know how vulnerable women and girls are in their private spaces, so I will 100% block any man who wants to go into the women's bathroom, locker room, or locker room. I will fight you every step of the way. Please,” Mace told reporters, noting her past as a rape victim.
When asked if the bill was a result of McBride's election, Mace said nothing. “Yes, of course, and then a little,” she said matter-of-factly.
When a hostile reporter cornered Mace on the issue, she confronted him. “I'm not going to let a biological man into a woman's private space. I'm going to stand on the brink and get in the way of people on the radical left who think it's okay to have penises in women's locker rooms, bathrooms, and changing rooms.” I’m going to do that.”
When asked about whether McBride is a man or a woman, House Speaker Mike Johnson refused to “get into a stupid debate,” accepting McBride as a “duly elected representative of the people” and saying, “I want to be treated with dignity.” It will be treated.” I respect you just like the other members.
“We cater to everyone’s needs,” he added.
But this reaction appears not to have been strong enough for many Republicans.
Later that day, he amended his original statement, saying, “A man is a man and a woman is a woman. A man can't be a woman…But we can treat everyone with dignity.” We can do and believe all these things at the same time.”
He also issued the following statement: “All single-sex facilities, including restrooms, locker rooms, and locker rooms in the Capitol and House Office Buildings, are reserved for individuals of that biological sex.”
Pat Gray accepts Mace and Johnson's position.
