Prominent lawyer Alan Dershowitz said on Monday that he is assembling a “legal dream team” in response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's indictment by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
The ICC has issued arrest warrants for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Israeli Defense Minister Job Galant on charges of crimes against humanity stemming from Israel's response to the October 7 terrorist attack that killed more than 1,200 people. The attack was carried out by the Islamic extremist terrorist organization Hamas. Dershowitz said his team includes multiple former attorneys general and a former FBI director. “I published an op-ed in today's Wall Street Journal titled “Assembling a Legal Dream Team to Defend Israel,'' in which I wrote a “I'm talking about the outrageous decision of the International Criminal Court to issue arrest warrants for Israeli leaders,” Dershowitz said. “Writs were never issued against democratically elected leaders. Usually they target people in Sudan and places like that, but the international legal community, especially the International Criminal Court, the International Court of Justice, the United Nations It is clear that the government has decided to go after Israel, accusing it of genocide and starving the Gaza population, a completely, completely bogus charge.

“So within hours of that announcement being made, I started making calls and assembled probably one of the best legal teams in history, probably of all time,” Dershowitz said. “I have two former attorneys general.
