Democratic Mayor Mike Johnston recently said he was willing to go to jail for opposing the Trump administration's border policies. The president-elect's chosen person to be the next border czar responded that he intended to put him there.
Tom Homan, President Trump's nominee for border czar, told Fox News' Sean Hannity: “You're completely breaking the law.” “All he has to do is watch the Arizona vs. USA game and realize he's breaking the law. The mayor of Denver also predicted a “Tiananmen moment” if the administration carries out its plan.
Homan pointed to a law that states that “it is a serious crime to intentionally harbor an illegal alien and hide him from immigration authorities.”

“President Trump has been clear: We want to focus on public safety threats and national security threats. I don't believe there are governors who say they don't want to eliminate public safety threats from their neighborhoods. “It's tough,” he said.

Johnston also said he supported limited deportations of people convicted of “serious crimes.” He added that if the plan were to focus solely on violent offenders, they would be “ready partners.”
Homan said if Johnston doesn't want to protect the community, Trump and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will. Homan served as acting ICE director during the first Trump administration.
